The Game Awards merupakan ajang penghargaan tahunan terbesar di industri video game. Acara ini akan digelar dengan banyak kategori dan nominasi. Di tahun ini, game Deathloop menjadi salah satu game yang diprediksi bakal membawa banyak piala.
Sebab, game tembak-tembakan tersebut masuk ke dalam banyak kategori, seperti Game of the Year, Best Game Direction, Best Narrative, Best Art Direction, dan Best Audio Design.

Selain game, di ajang The Game Awards 2021 terdapat kategori Best Esports Athlete, Best Esports Team ,hingga Content Creator of the Year. Penghargaan tersebut sengaja dihadirkan sebagai wujud apresiasi terhadap orang-orang yang berprestasi di bidang eSports.
Dilansir Telset dari IGN pada Rabu (17/11/2021), acara ini akan digelar pada tanggal 9 Desember 2021 di Microsoft Theater Amerika Serikat. Selain pengumuman pemenang, acara juga akan diisi oleh pertunjukan lebih dari 50 game terkenal.
